About Kim Mumford
A camera in hand since age seven, a lifetime of stories.
Based in Mascoutah, Illinois, I’ve spent over ten years photographing high school seniors, brand-new babies, bustling weddings, and competitive sports across the St. Louis Metro East.
Beyond the lens
I’m a wife of 26+ years, a mom to three wonderful kids (two boys and a daughter), and a hockey mom through and through. If I’m not behind the camera at golden hour or in my Mascoutah studio, you can usually find me at a chilly ice rink cheering on local hockey teams, out with our dogs, or scouting new outdoor locations across Southern Illinois.
My connection with photography started young. My grandfather gave me my first camera when I was seven, and from that moment on, I saw the world in frames. What started as capturing family milestones turned into a full-time studio dedicated to giving people photos they truly love looking back on.
I don’t believe in stiff posing or awkward fake smiles. My sessions are relaxed, unhurried, and fun. Whether it’s an energetic high school senior who brought their hockey jersey and bass guitar, or a five-day-old newborn sleeping peacefully in a warm studio wrap, I adapt to you.

Certified in Newborn Safety & CPR
Fully certified in CPR, First Aid, and Infant Safety. Newborn poses are always done with gentle, safe techniques in a sanitized, temperature-regulated studio.
High School Preferred Photographer
Preferred photographer for Belleville Township High Schools (East & West). We handle senior yearbook formatting and direct submission so you don’t have to stress.

The Space
The Mascoutah Studio
Located at 911 W Main St in Mascoutah, the studio is designed to feel warm, calm, and welcoming.
It’s fully equipped for newborn sessions, first birthday cake smashes, and indoor studio portraits. You’ll have access to our client wardrobe of designer maternity gowns, newborn wraps, headbands, backdrops, and custom props — so you don’t have to spend a penny buying one-time outfits.
